Driving confidence: As someone who had struggled with driving anxiety for many years, I did not start my hypnotherapy with high expectations. I had tried other therapies and also continuously tried to push myself for years and just avoided driving unless I really had to do it. My sessions were done through zoom and were more comfortable than I thought they would be. They have helped me to continuously push out of my comfort zone where I have taken realistic steps to be less restrictive with my driving. I had only driven the same routes to the same places for 5 years and avoided a lot but I am now able to cope and prepare, even at times when I have been anxious beforehand.
Overcame my fear of public speaking: I volunteered to have some hypnotherapy with Melissa as I desperately wanted to overcome my fear of public speaking. I received a total of 6 sessions and I chose face-to-face work as that suited me best. My fear public of speaking meant feeling unable to share my opinion with others, or engage in a discussion in front of 2 or more people. If I knew I had to speak out or read something aloud I would feel the anxiety building, my heart would pound, and my mind would go blank, and this would be especially worse if I was sharing something about myself. When it was my turn I would say as little as possible and sometimes would back out altogether. I was tired of this fear overwhelming me so I made a decision to have hypnotherapy. I felt if I could improve my situation, even just a little bit, it could only be a positive thing. I had progressed in other areas of my life, but this fear was holding me back. I suppose it was more than speaking out, it was finding belief within myself that what I had to say was valid and worth listening to. I had a lot of self-doubt and I didn’t want to feel like that anymore. From that first session, Melissa put my mind at ease, and her calm presence helped me to feel relaxed. Melissa only worked with what I felt comfortable with, she checked things out every step of the way so that I always safe and in control. By the end of the sixth session I had managed to speak up in a classroom setting and did so in a calm and relaxed manner! I felt that Melissa had taken me on a journey, a journey through different settings, as she used positive and encouraging dialogue to work through, and break down my fears, at the same time building up my self-esteem. A year has passed since I had the hypnotherapy and I now speak up regularly in classroom settings, I can think clearly and this makes it easy for me to share my opinion. Best thing I have ever done: I became a non-smoker with Inner Power Hypnotherapy. The key message here is that I am not an ex-smoker, I am a non-smoker, and Inner Power helped me recognise and understand the difference. I started by completing a questionnaire which helped Melissa understand my triggers and habits. This was followed up with two sessions via Zoom, and it felt like Melissa was in the room.
